2. Going To Extra Lengths With Steel Supply

When Sydney steel fabrication firm Proline Steel required plate steel of an unusual length, they looked to BlueScope Steel for help through distributor Southern Steel. Around 55 tonnes of XLERPLATE® steel, 17.8 metres long, was used as central supporting components for the roof over a swimming pool at Queenwood School for Girls on Sydney’s lower north shore.   • Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21 April 1926 at 2.40am to the Duke (later King George VI) and the Duchess of York at 17 Bruton Street, London - the home of the Duchess of York's parents. She was given the names Elizabeth Alexandra Mary.
  • With the exception of Western Australia, the Queen's birthday will be celebrated in Australia on Monday, 14 June 2010. Western Australia will celebrate the Queen's birthday on Monday, 27 September 2010.
  • Each year, Australia Post issues a stamp commemorating the Queen's birthday. The Queen's Birthday stamp issue for 2010 features an image of the Queen taken in 2006 leaving St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney following the observance, where she is met by a loyal crowd.
